The Chalet
Rooms, a restaurant, an events hall and saunas, all in one building in Poiana la Doi Meri. Bookings by phone: +40 744 644 401
Location
Cabana Vitoria Lipan sits in Poiana la Doi Meri, above the village of Văleni-Stânișoara, in the commune of Mălini, Suceava county. Around it are mixed woods of conifer and broadleaf, and meadows; the river Suha runs right past the yard.
The Pojorâta ski slope is 200 m from the chalet and has a ski tow. Suceava is 50 km away, Fălticeni 25 km, along the county road that links Suceava to Neamț — the one people here call the Italian road — at the foot of the Stânișoara mountains.

Where the name comes from
Poiana la Doi Meri, from Baltagul
The chalet stands in Poiana la Doi Meri — the glade Mihail Sadoveanu names in his novel Baltagul, where Vitoria Lipan holds the forty-day memorial feast for Nechifor and where Bogza and Cuțui give themselves away.
The glade is not a literary invention: it is here, above the village of Văleni-Stânișoara. The chalet later built in it took the name of the woman in the book.
You do not need to have read the novel to be happy here. But if you have, you will recognise the place.

The building
The rooms and apartments sit on the upper floors, behind timber balconies across three storeys, with the restaurant, the halls and the kitchen in the same house: from your room you walk straight down to dinner or to a party.
The yard is enclosed, with its own gate and parking included in the price. At its far end are the saunas, and the ciubăr — a hot tub whose water is heated over a wood fire — is outside, under the open sky.
