Where the name comes from
Poiana la Doi Meri, from Baltagul
Poiana la Doi Meri is a real place, above the village of Văleni-Stânișoara — the glade Mihail Sadoveanu names in his novel Baltagul. The chalet later built in it took Vitoria Lipan’s name.
Readers of the novel recognise the place. For everyone else there are the mountains, the quiet and dinner in the restaurant.

The film and the surroundings
The chalet and the area around it, seen from the air.

Stayed here with my girlfriend for one night in Oct 2020. We have to say that the location is pretty nice and that it's a very quiet place to be. The rooms are quite spacious and clean. We also had access to a balcony which had a table and 2 chairs, so it was quite big as well and a nice addition if you are a smoker or if you want to enjoy a drink or a coffee while watching the surroundings. The bed was comfy and we slept really well. Although the planks were a bit too cozy for that time of the year. There are also big fridges in the rooms. So if you plan to get some food and drinks with you, you'll have more than enough room to put them there. We can't say anything about the food at the place since we haven't eaten anything there. However, we can definitely recommend restaurant "La Filuta" which is nearby. But do try the food at their place first.. You might be surprised. The parking place is quite big as well (quite important since everyone will probably come by car) We haven't interacted with the staff too much, but they seemed nice. What we didn't like was probably the fact that the a part of the lighting in the bathroom wasn't working (but this can happen anytime and anywhere.. They only have to change the bulbs). All in all, I definitely recommend the place if you're looking to relax for a few days in a quiet place. This was the cheapest option in the area when we searched, but you aren't making big compromises in terms of comfort from my point of view.

Great facilities, definitely worth it. Just be mindful of the owner and some services that might not be available, like breakfast, but you can easily have it nearby.
